Warehouse Manager

Description

One of Eurorelief’s main tasks is providing Non-Food Items to residents. These include clothes and hygiene packages, diapers and other necessary items. The Eurorelief warehouse is situated a few kilometers outside of camp and serves as a hub for incoming and outgoing goods. It is also the place where we sort delivered goods and prepare them for distributions in camp.

The warehouse manager is responsible for the operations in the warehouse. The role is not necessarily a full-time position; the warehouse manager should be willing to help in other areas of Eurorelief’s work, as the need arises.

He/she reports to the NFI Coordinator.

Requirements

• Availability at least three months, preferably longer
• Emotional stability, flexibility
• Leadership skills and experience
• Willingness to also serve in camp and in other roles, as the need arises
• Identification with the Christian values of Eurorelief

Responsibilities

• Operations in and around the Eurorelief warehouse: inventory, storage, preparations for distributions
• Training and Supervision of volunteers

As with all Eurorelief roles, this is a volunteer position: applicants must be self-funded and should have a network of friends and supporters at their "home-base". The first 3 months serve as a probationary period, after which we expect you to take a break from the work for at least a week. If you plan to come for a year or more, you should plan to take a break of about one month after every three months served, or 4 weeks within a sixteen-week-period.

Interested? You can apply to volunteer and, in the comments section, mention what role you are interested in, or you can send an application email to info@eurorelief.net

Eurorelief was founded in 2005 and deployed to Kalamata, Greece in response to deadly earthquakes. Eurorelief later took up work on the island of Lesvos in 2015 as one of the NGOs serving within Moria Hotspot. We continue to fulfill key roles in Mavrovouni Registration and Identification Center (RIC), the new temporary camp on the island of Lesvos. In collaboration with camp management and other actors on the island, we provide basic non-food items, oversee shelter allocation, are involved in maintenance and building projects as well as education and recreational activities. Since summer 2021, we are also present in RIC Zervou on the island of Samos. For more info, go to  Our Work.
