Lesvos: Journey of Adaptation 

This past month has been very peaceful. The camp numbers are down from over 5000 to just under 3500. We don't yet know if this is the new normal or if numbers will again increase.

Our NFI Warehouse and Distribution team has been very busy. We have been able to do several distributions of items that have been in the warehouse for a while. In the last month, we’ve distributed: 1832 pyjamas to men in camp, toy boxes for children, 840 fitted bed sheets for women (and 764 men still in progress), perfume and bath loofahsto girls aged 15-17, and frisbees for children starting this week. We also had a library open house, with a beautifully painted mural by a resident volunteer artist, and it is now in operation.

We are very honoured to be creating a growing and deepening Resident Volunteer program, despite massive transfers and successful asylum cases, not without many hard goodbyes with longer-term Resident Volunteers.
