Lesvos: Camp-Wide Scabies Intervention

In August, camp numbers dipped below 800, but then quickly rose to above 1000. We are excited to begin building a small workout gym next to our Skills Area in the coming weeks.

Education has had a radically different format this summer, with the goal being for children to have a full day school schedule, going from class to class, with various classes being taught by different actors–and it has gone very well. We are also supporting a camp-wide scabies intervention right now and this is great news for people suffering!

Our Volunteer Trainings are now being filmed and edited to to make them available for settings where the trainer can not be physically present. We have kept up with various new distributions, like education supplies (notebook, activity books, pencils, erasers), body wash and soap, frisbees and shower gel, wet wipes and paper towels.

We are collectively working on being proactive and preparing for anything that may come our way, while also open to new opportunities. With camp numbers being low, areas of camp can easily fall into disrepair, and we are needing discernment to know what doors to enter and which to ignore, as more and more organisations depart from the island, leaving gaps and opportunities behind them.
